Altenew June 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey friends! I’m back today with two new projects for the Altenew June 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil New Release Blog Hop! If you started the hop from the beginning then you would have come from Reiko Tsuchida’s Blog. If you’ve started here, WELCOME! You can still make your way around the entire hop by clicking the link at the bottom of my post.

I started my first project with a white cardstock background and used the Classy Stripes Stencil and White Embossing Paste to add texture to the cardstock. I then positioned a cut file wreath, that I cut using two different color green cardstocks, on the texture paste. I thought the background needed a little more color to help the stripes pop off the background, so I grabbed a yellow mist from my stash to add a splash of color.

I then stamped florals from the new Peaceful Reverie Stamp Set multiple times using multiple colors (pink, teal, & purple). I also stamped multiple groupings of leaves from the same stamp set. After I had the images stamped and fussy cut (I’m so wishing that I would have also grabbed the Peaceful Reverie Die Set…it’s now on my wishlist! HA!), I realized the colors of the flowers were quite as rich as I was hoping. To help remedy this, I dabbed each of the florals and leaves into my Versamark Pad and used clear embossing powder on each of those images. It really helped deepen the color!

After I had those images all heat embossed, I started tucking the florals in the cut file wreathes. I tucked my 5×7 photo under the wreath as well. I also added machine stitching around the center of the wreath. I added a few fussy cut floral images from a patterned paper from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection and also tucked in a few Chipboard Embellishments from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I added my title using the Black Alphas from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I added a few enamel dots for the final touch.

For my second project, I used my Cricut to cut a large heart from an ombre patterned paper from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection. I positioned the heart onto a white cardstock background and added pink stitching around the edge of the heart.

I positioned both of my photos in the center of the heart. These photos were taken at a cupcake ATM when I was visiting Los Angeles. Cupcakes from an ATM…talk about a fun memory!! I backed the photos with a layer of tissue paper and cut the Green Frame Sticker, from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection , in half. I positioned the title, Colorful Memories from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection, above the photos.

I added a couple Floral Cluster Stickers, from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection, on either side of the heart to add a little more embellishing to the layout. I wanted just a little more detail to those areas, so I used the new Forever in Love Stamp Set with black ink for a graphic touch. I also grabbed three hearts from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection for additional pops of color. I also added black splatters for a final touch!

Altenew April 2019 Washi Tape/Embossing Paste Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey there friends! I am so excited to be a part of the Altenew April 2019 Washi Tape/Embossing Paste Blog Hop! If you started the hop from the beginning then you would have come from Reiko Tsuchida’s Blog. If you’ve started here, WELCOME! You can still make your way around the entire hop by clicking on the blog link at the bottom of my post. [You’ll also find a complete list of hoppers at the bottom of my post.]

12x12 scrapbook layout using the Altenew Washi Tape & Verdant Walk Patterned Paper.

For my layout today, I started with a white cardstock base. I used the Sketched Lines Stencil and the new Altenew Embossing Paste diagonally down the center of the layout. I used a blue mist from my stash to add a little bit of color to the background to help the stencil lines pop. I waited for the embossing paste to be almost completely dry and then took a napkin to dab the color off the embossing paste. I love how this turned out!! It gave the embossing paste a bit more texture.

Now let me give you my honest opinion of the Altenew Embossing Paste…I’m a bit of a snob when it come to embossing/texture pastes. I like them to be lightweight and really opaque! I’m so happy with how this embossing paste worked! I will definitely be reaching for it again & again!!

I cut multiple rolled flowers from an older Cricut cartridge. I cut the flowers in different sizes on numerous patterned papers from the Altenew 6×6 Verdant Walk Paper Pack. I rolled the flowers and adhered them to their bases using hot glue, and then I adhered them to the layout following the same angle as the embossing paste.

After I had the flowers adhered, I put the Teal Shadow Washi Tape & the Botanical Rhapsody Washi Tape on a scrap piece of white cardstock and fussy cut out the florals and leaf images. I then adhered those fussy cut images around the outside edges of the flowers.

After the washi tape flowers and leaves were added to the layout, I added my title using Black Alphas from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection. I added my photos to the upper right hand side of the layout and finished the layout with a few coral splatters.

I absolutely love the new Altenew Washi Tapes & Embossing Paste! Now you can take a look at my YouTube Process Video.
