January | 2014 | Papercrafting with Kelly Janes

When you hear of Close To My Heart’s products most people’s minds automatically go to paper crafting products, but with the current Fall/Winter 2013 Idea Book CTMH has really branched out to new products.

Including a Base & Bling Jewelry line!! They offer a necklace kit and also individual pieces such as bracelets, rings, headbands, hair clips, and necklaces! The jewels and accents for this line come in a large variety of colors and are very versatile. They can be used on all papercrafting projects including cards, scrapbook pages and the NEW Crush Albums.

This is a sample of a card using a floral accent in the Base & Bling line.

The flower on this card is from the Base & Bling Floral Accents collection {while supplies last}. I just added white acrylic paint to alter the color to match the theme of my card. This card also got a “shout out” on the Retro Sketches Challenge Blog!! I was so excited!!! Totally made my day! Check it out here!!

The sketch today comes from Mojo Monday.

I altered this sketch slightly by rotating it. Starting with a white card base, I added a layer of Black Cardstock.Using the In The Background Stamp Set, Versamark®, and black embossing powder I created the shiny chevron design. Using the stamp set from the For Always Workshop On The Go® Cardmaking Kit {retired} I stamped the sentiment and banners in Versamark® and once again used black embossing powder to create the shine on a layer of Whisper Cardstock. The scallop was made by double layering Whisper Cardstock and Black & Grey Glitter Paper using an EK Success Punch. Next I added a layer of patterned paper from the For Always Paper Packet {retired} and also a skinny strip of the Black & Grey Glitter Paper at the base of the patterned paper.

Using Honey Cardstock, the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge, and a few Clear Sparkles these flowers were easily created and add a great pop of color to this card!!

The black, white, and grey combo and the little pop of color on this card makes it perfect for any celebratory occasion!!

With the multiple layers on this card it also is perfect for day #9 {use layers} of the Project A Day Challenge! I’m running slightly behind on the Project A Day Challenge so be on the look out for another post soon!!!
