AHSC #126

It’s Monday!! Do you know what that means?!? It’s time for another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

AHSC #126

For my card I started with a White Daisy Cardstock base followed by a layer of retired Later Sk8r B&T. I’ve been dying to get my hands on the new Ink Blot Stamp Set, but it’s among maaannnny other new items so I haven’t had a chance to purchase it yet!! Instead I grabbed what I had handy which was the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! and used Versamark™ Ink along with Silver Embossing Powder to add to the paint splash look of the B&T. Then I grabbed a scrap piece of Watercolor Cardstock and used the Amy Tangerine Aspire Stamp Set to stamp the camera and arrow with Archival Black Exclusive Ink™. Using Watercolor Paints I created the colored background and then added a sentiment from the retired Geometric Thoughts Stamp Set.

I wanted to add a little more shine to the card so I grabbed a scrap piece of White Daisy Cardstock, swiped Versamark™ Ink along the edge of the cardstock, heated with Silver Embossing Powder, and then tucked it under the B&T. There’s a great tutorial from Jennifer McGuire showing this technique which you can find here. I then layered the watercolor piece with another piece of White Daisy Cardstock, added black stitching and silver sequins that I found at Wal-Mart.

AHSC126Now it’s your turn to head over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and enter your interpretation of this week’s sketch!

Retired Products 1,2,3,4…

Wowza! I pulled out some oldies but goodies for this card!

CTMH: Too Cute

I pulled out the long retired Too Cute Stamp Set and Card Word Puzzle Stamp Set for this card. Along with the retired Skylark and Surf’s Up Paper Packets! With all the new products that have been released I’m needing to use up my very large stash! I layered both of the B&T’s and then added a panel of Watercolor Paper. I used my new gelatos that I picked up at my local Michael’s to give the watercolor panel a blue tinted wash. The cute little bear is stamped in Archival Black Exclusive Ink™ <—YES, it’s back!! Along with Momento™ Tuxedo Black Ink for your alcohol marker coloring pleasure! I then used multiple ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers (Warm Grey, Bronze, Clay and Tender Pink) to color in that cute little bear. The umbrella was stamped in Versamark™ Ink and embossed using a golden hue embossing powder (no name on the jar so I’m unsure of the brand!) I then paper pieced all of those layers using Thin 3D Foam Tape. For final touches I machine stitched around the watercolor panel and added a few White Enamel Stars.

Thanks for stopping by today!
