I’m back again with another layout from our cruise.

Big Picture Classes Cut File, Dear Lizzy, Heidi Swapp, Hip Kit Club Layout

I used a cut file designed by Ashley Horton for Big Picture Classes on patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy-Fine & Dandy Collection. After I had it cut I backed it with 6 photos and 3 Project Life cards from the Hip Kit Club. Then I grabbed CTMH White Daisy Cardstock and added some mixed media. For the pink paste I used Faber Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel, CTMH Blush Re-Inker & white acrylic paint. Once I had the color mixed I used a Tim Holtz stencil and created a random polka dot background.

I added stitching to a few of the Polaroid squares and then started embellishing. I used multiple products including: Pink Fresh Studio Puffy Sequins, a chipboard gold glittered circle from the Maggie Holmes-Shine Collection, gold glitter hearts from CTMH, Heidi Swapp gold Minc arrows, a retired CTMH Balloon Ride enamel shape, CTMH Pink Enamel Dots, Gold Glitter Trim from Michael’s, a mint & gold Heidi Swapp bow, and a few other odds and ends from my stash. For the title I used tiny wood veneer alpha letters from Studio Calico.

Die Cut Blog Hop

Welcome to the Blog Hops with Heart Blog Hop. You may have come from Amie Kiger’s blog, but if you’ve started here that is perfect too!! Our hop is a circle so you can make your way around by clicking the link at the bottom of my post. And you’re going to want to make it all the way through!

Die Cut Blog Hop

This month’s hop is die cut themed. There are so many ways to implement die cuts…from your Big Shot, Cricut, Cameo, etc. Recently I’ve found a new addiction….Cut Files! If you are not familiar with cut files, they are PNG, SVG, etc images that can be uploaded into a Silhouette or Cricut Explore. I am a Cricut user, I have been since the very first Cricut came out!

Today for my die cut, I used The Places You’ll Go Cut File from The Cut Shoppe. I’ve been on a cruise scrapbooking kick lately and I used this cut file with an older Dear Lizzy Collection-5th & Frolic. I love how the globe just fit the theme of this layout perfectly! I used an American Crafts white textured cardstock as my base and added a layer of clear gesso. I had originally wanted to use a blue shade of paint within the center of the cut file to create the illusion of water but couldn’t find a color that matched. So I ended up using Golden Wheat Shimmerz Paint that matches beautifully with the yellow that I used in the patterned papers. I added a zigzag stitch around the entire circumference of the globe and tucked my photo in the bottom right hand corner.

I created a photo cluster using a yellow paper from the Crate Paper-Maggie Holmes-Confetti Collection, along with a Project Life card from the Hip Kit Club, a small doily, followed by a layer of vellum. This photo already had a white mat because I had previously scrapbooked this photo, but didn’t like the design of the layout.

Once I had my photo cluster created I moved on to embellishing.  I had went through a stage where I opened all of my ephemera and organized it all by color. My thought process was if they were no longer in the packaging and out in the open I might use them, but it backfired! haha! I find myself not looking through the containers because there is so much of it that it overwhelms me. BUT I decided I need to use up my stash so I sorted through the containers. I believe the chipboard floral pieces are from Dear Lizzy. I also added in a zig-zag chipboard piece & a flair button at the bottom of my photo cluster from the Dear Lizzy-Lucky Charm Collection. I positioned the Heidi Swapp title “Adventure” directly on top of the photo. I also added a few Heidi Swapp gold glitter hearts, a few Dear Lizzy chipboard chevrons from the Lucky Charm Collection, a Heidi Swapp gold glitter arrow. I added my journaling, date stamp, and Black Heidi Shine. Layout complete!
