This month I used a technique that I have been DYING to try!!! Modeling/Embossing Paste is a hot trend right now, and I recently picked some up at Michael’s. When I saw this sketch I knew immediately this would be a great fit for my Easter pictures {from 3 years ago} and also gave me a great opportunity to try out this new technique!!

I started by grabbing a stencil, Golden Modeling Paste, and a handy Martha Stewart spatula. Using those three items I created the 3D background on the Saddle Cardstock*. I then starting layering my layout…Starting with Cashmere Cardstock* for the base of my layout followed by a layer of Balloon Ride B&T* finally adding the Saddle Cardstock* with the modeling paste, and then multiple pennants of Balloon Ride B&T Duos*.

I used my 2″ Scallop Punch {retired} that I picked up while it was While Supplies Last Only.  I also added a doily and a couple Small Sparkle Flourishes*. The wood veneer butterfly is from the Color-Ready Garden Wooden Shapes  and was also purchased in the While Supplies Last section! <—-Have you check out that page?!?  You can get great CTMH product for a fraction of the cost!! Even though the Garden Shapes have retired there are still plenty of other Color-Ready Shapes to choose from!!

Are you loving that sentiment*!?! It is only available through the Balloon Ride Workshop on the Go™ Scrapbooking Kit, is Cricut® compatible, and was stamped in Saddle Exclusive Ink™. If you follow my blog you know I am a HUGE fan of the WOTG Kits!  {Have you noticed all of the asterisks?!? All of those items [AND MORE] are available in the Balloon Ride WOTG!  Now you understand why I’m such a big fan of those kits!!}

These pictures were taken in 2011 immediately following the Easter Egg hunt that our town has every year for the kids. Two things come to mind when I look at these pictures. #1- When did my son grow up?!? He is so little in these pictures and I feel like this all just happened yesterday! #2- I am so grateful for our family, and the investment they make in my son’s life each and every day! Aidan is surrounded by family every day that love him unconditionally!! What an amazing blessing that is! I love the emotion that photos hold for the person looking at them. This is why scrapbooking is so important!!

Shhhh…don’t tell!!

So don’t tell anyone, but I do own stamps that are not from Close To My Heart. They are few and far between {seriously I think only 5 out of the hundreds I own are not Close To My Heart} but this card displays one of them!! When I saw this card by Therese Calvird I jumped straight to a flower stamp I own from Stampendous® that I purchased years ago.

CTMH: Balloon Ride {card inspired by Therese Calvird}

Using B&T Duos™ from the CTMH Balloon Ride Paper Packet and White Daisy Cardstock I created the layers on the card. I stamped the flower images in StazOn™ Ink, and used some cheap watercolors I purchased at Michael’s to color the flowers in. I LOVE watercolors!!! Watercolors give you permission to color outside the lines and it still looks fantastic! The messier the better!!!

 If you look closely at the White Daisy Cardstock the edges were curled/distressed using an Edge Distresser. The sentiment is from the CTMH Sincere Expressions Stamp Set using StazOn™ Ink. Adding a couple Clear Sparkles and the card is complete.
