For my layout today I used the Pink Paislee Summer Lights Collection. When I was going through all of the patterned papers I initially thought I would use the colorful polka dottedĀ patterned paper #03 , but I was in the mood to create my own polka dotted background with some mixed media goodies. So I grabbed a sheet of CTMH White Daisy Cardstock, added a layer of clear gesso and then the fun began!

I started the mixed media process with my Jane Davenport Brights Watercolors. I grabbed the bright, beautiful yellow from this watercolor set and used the packaging technique to apply color to the background. After the watercolor was dry I used pink & purple acrylic paints from my stash and mixed those colors with white modeling paste. Then I applied the colored modeling paste through The Crafter’s Workshop Tiny Circle Stencil to create a polka dot background.

After the modeling paste was dry I went to my photo that I printed using my Canon Selphy Printer. This photo was taken using one of the fun, new Instagram filters! I love the summer vibe of the photo! I added minimal layers behind my photo including a layer of white tissue paper and fun foam to elevate the photo from the background for additional dimension. I used multiple pieces from the Pink Paislee Summer Lights Die Cut Pack, which includes really fun holographic foiled pieces, for the title and embellishing. Much to my surprise I didn’t use any patterned papers on this layout!

For final touches, I splattered watered down teal acrylic paint, added tangled pink thread around the photo and added the date using a roller date stamp with a retired CTMH pink ink. I didn’t add any journaling to this layout because it wasn’t a special occasion. Just me and my kiddo taking silly selfies.

Always Dream

Hey friends! I’m back today with a new scrapbook layout and process video!

12x12 Scrapbook Layout using the CTMH Little Dreamer Paper Packet and Complements

For my layout today I used the CTMH Little Dreamer Paper Packet. I don’t tend to use a lot of CTMH products when I scrapbook but this paper pack fit the theme of my layout so well that I just had to use it! I started with a White Cardstock base and then tore one of the Little Dreamer Patterned Papers in a diagonal direction. I also used white tissue paper and multiple pattern papers from the same collection for the layers behind my photo.

Before I adhered anything down I applied a layer of Clear Gesso to the white cardstock for a little mixed media. I used the CTMH Crystal Blue Ink Pad on a piece of packaging, sprayed just a bit of water and then smooshed the packaging onto the white cardstock for a watercolor look.

Once I had the color coverage I was looking for, I used the Echo Park Beach Towel Stencil and white modeling paste over the watercolor. After the modeling paste dried I used my paper piercer on the corners of the white modeling paste. Then using coordinating purple embroidery floss, I stitched little x’s on the background. Using modeling paste and this stencil for hand stitching was my initial idea when I purchased this stencil! I love that it can be used for multiple purposes!

Once the stitching was complete I added a couple florals from a free cut file at Scrapbook Nerd as a layer behind the photo. I then moved onto the title. I used the glittery word “Always” and the stickers “Dream” from the Little Dreamer Complements Set. Included in that same set is that cute little unicorn! I just had to use him on my page! It fit the whimsy of this layout which documents the first time my kiddo had his cousin stay the night at our house.

I added a few more glittery purple florals from the Little Dreamer Complements Set to the left of the photo. I also used my WRMK Typecast Typewriter for the journaling. I cut the words into strips and adhered the journaling under the title.
