CTMH: April SOTM

This month I was looking for inspiration on how I wanted to use this stamp set. Then I stumbled on the newest sketch from Retro Sketches and thought it would be a great fit. When I initially saw the sketch I immediately thought the background of the card was an envelope so I knew I wanted to incorporate that element on my card.

CTMH: April SOTM

I started with a Colonial White Cardstock base and added a stitched layer of Jackson B&T paper (available April 1). I then used paper from the same paper packet and my Envelope Punch Board to create a small envelope. I then took a scrap piece of Colonial White Cardstock and stamped the typewriter image & sentiment from the Typed Note Stamp Set in Cashmere Pigment Exclusive Ink™.  I heat set the image using Clear Embossing Powder and then used multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Walnut Stain, Tea Dye, and Vintage Photo) to create the distressed brown background. For a final touch I added a looped strand of Baker’s Twine & a couple Durables Triangle Studs. I love the vintage look of the typewriter and the distress inks just played right along with that theme. The small envelope on this masculine birthday card is perfect for tucking in a gift card or two to celebrate such a fun occasion.

CTMH: Skylark & Seaside

For my card, I started with a Colonial White Cardstock base and added a layer of B&T from the Seaside Paper Packet. I cut an oval from a scrap piece of Colonial White Cardstock and the focal point of the card is cut from a card included in the Skylark Picture My Life™ Program. I then added a (retired) wood veneer accent, few Brown & Tan Sparkles, and some stitching around the border.
