Hey friends! I’m so excited to be returning for a new Altenew Blog Hop! This month we are featuring the inks that are being released in December. The inks are a great combo of blues, deep yellows & blues. If you started the hop from the beginning then you would have come from Agnieszka Malyszek’s Blog. If you’ve started here, WELCOME! When I first saw these colors I immediately thought Fall. They could definitely be used for all types of projects, but given that I received them in November and I had Fall on the brain I decided to go with a Fall themed project. I started by stamping the Dot Botanicals Stamp Set in a shade of yellow, blue and purple. I used the coordinating Dot Botanicals Die to cut out each leaf.

I used a scallop border punch from my stash to punch a few rows of white cardstock. I added hand-stitching in coordinating colors along the scallop edges. I added white heat embossed leaves from the Flower Garden Stamp Set to each of the scallop borders. I then used the Ink and added color on top of scallop borders. I loved how the white leaves resist the color and add another layer of interest and texture onto the background.

I added my photo the center of the layout and positioned my title on the bottom of the photo. I used a combo of the black alphas from the Altenew Reflection Collection and the Altenew Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection. I added a few strips of journaling under the photo. The weather was crazy in Indiana this November. We had a pretty good amount of snow come early and the contrast with the orange leaves was just so pretty.

I tucked the leaves into the scallop borders. I only added adhesive to the edges of the punched scallops and leaves to they were able to really pop off the page! I love to add dimension to a layout whenever possible! I ultimately decided on just using the blue and purple leaves and scallops. The yellow just didn’t mesh well with the colors in my photo.

I did want to add a pop or yellow or orange to the background so I grabbed my stash of buttons. I pulled out purple and yellow/orange buttons and scattered them around the layout. Again, another great pop of color and dimension! For another textural element I added a few wood veneer hearts.
