AHSC #130

Well tonight I had a little bit of an oops! Mondays are busy nights for us. I work out of town all day and have to take my son to Cub Scouts immediately after work. I’m lucky if I’m home by 8:00. Tonight after we were fed I got on Facebook for a quick second and I saw a post by one of my fellow design team members from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I immediately jumped up and realized I had not created my card for this week’s challenge! AHHH! So I ran up to my craft room and quickly pumped out this card!

AHSC #130

It’s a fairly simple card with a white cardstock base and layers of an old Fancy Pants 6×6 paper pad I had in my stash. The sentiment is a wood veneer flag from Jillibean Soup that I colored using a blue gelato. I added stitching around the pink & patterned paper and what’s a card without a little bling?!

AHSC #130 Now it’s your turn to head over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and enter your interpretation of sketch #130!

Fall Theme Continues

If you are a frequent visitor of my blog you’ll notice that I’m on a fall kick.  One reason is the weather outside is gorgeous right now but another is my craft table pretty much turns into a construction zone when I scrapbook. Paper is everywhere, embellishments thrown about, my paper trimmer inevitably disappears at least 3 or 4 times underneath all the mess. Because of all this I tend to stick with a theme rather than clean up! haha! So I have another fall themed layout for you today.

There are multiple labels on this layout including Crate Paper, Dear Lizzy, Simple Stories, CTMH, and more names that escape me because I’ve either removed the items from their original packaging or I’ve cut off the zip strips losing their labels.  The burgundy polka dotted paper was just a little too bold and I felt like it was drowning out my photos. I mentioned in previous posts that I’ve recently fallen in love with Big Picture Classes and one of the classes is 5 Ways To Use Gesso. So to help mute the burgundy color I created a white wash using Gesso. I’m loving the gold leaf sequins so I had to tuck them anywhere I could find any open spot! These are a couple of my all time favorite fall photos. My niece and son playing in the leaves. The smiles and expressions are priceless!!
