Altenew Enjoy the Ride Scrapbook Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey everyone! Altenew scrapbook collections are some of my favorite and I was SO EXCITED when they asked me to participate in the new Enjoy the Ride blog hop. If you started the hop from the beginning then you would have come from Nicole Watt’s Blog. If you’ve started here; WELCOME! You can still make your way around the entire hop by clicking the link at the bottom of my post.

The variety of Altenew patterned papers make their collections so unique. After much deliberation on which 12×12 patterned paper to use, I decided on using a blue patterned paper that has a watercolor wash for my background.

This layout was actually inspired by one of the chipboard pieces in this collection. It’s an open book with florals spraying out from it, and I had the perfect picture to go along with it. [This is a picture from a book club that my husband surprised me with for Mother’s Day a few years ago.] I positioned the photo slightly off center on the background and went to embellishing. I then continued on with the floral theme with die cuts from the Ephemera Pack and Floral Pack.

When I was embellishing I made sure to leave a small open window in the die cuts for journaling. Then I moved onto my title. I cut the word “wonderful” from one of the chipboard stickers and used the chipboard alphas to spell out the work gift.

I felt like the top and bottom of the layout looked a little bare so I used my scissors to chop off a section of the blue patterned paper on the top and bottom. I then took a dark colored patterned paper and backed those sections.

  1. Wow! Incredible scrapbook page! I like how you arranged the flowers and added the darker paper to the top and bottom. Great video! Thank you.

  2. Fun book club you joined! And that’s a great video with you sharing the paper (love 2 sided paper) the die cuts and how you put everything together. I like your stitching and paper “distressing” Thanks for the inspiration.

  3. Your layout is so cute! I love how you layered all those pieces and they look so natural. Thank you for the inspiration!

  4. Loved watching you create this page, changing your mind as you went until you were happy with it. That die cut floral with the book is just perfect for the theme here. What a great gift! Thanks for sharing your creative process with us!

  5. I am having so much fun seeing how different artists have used these floral chip board and ephemera packs. Your layout is so feminine, and gorgeous 🙂
