Since I’ve started this blog I’ve been focusing a lot on cards. Don’t get me wrong!! I really do love making cards, but my first papercrafting love is scrapbooking. Here’s a look at a layout I made using the Sarita Paper Packet and other accents!

Happy Father’s Day {a day late}!

Yesterday was the day we celebrated all the great dads out there. I was so busy getting ready for the BBQ we hosted that I didn’t get this blog post up!!

Before I dive into the cards I want to give a shout out to the amazing fathers in my life. I am blessed to have an amazing father. He is my son’s best friend, and I don’t know what our family would do without him. My dad is terrific in helping with our cars {He’s an ace mechanic!! You can ask anyone in our town!!}, he helps with home improvement projects and gives the best advice. My father-in-law is a wonderful man. He has the biggest heart and is such a blessing to us all. My husband…..my husband. His parenting skills amaze me. He is a natural with our son and takes on so much responsibility. I am abundantly blessed!!!!

I have so many papercrafting projects that I’ve been working on, but my Father’s Day cards were not on that list!!! So as I’m scrambling last minute to make them I had to run to my Pinterest boards!!! The first card I made was inspired by this card by Amy Kolling. Using CTMH Whisper Cardstock and a Tim Holtz woodgrain dry embossing folder to start, followed by a small strip of CTMH Slate Cardstock, add a little Baker’s Twine, and a Happy Father’s Day sentiment* stamped in CTMH Archival Black Exclusive Ink™ makes this card complete!!  This was the first I have used the Archival Black Exclusive Ink™, and I loved it!! It gave me the crisp, clear image just as Stazon™ does, but the clean up wasn’t nearly as messy. {*The sentiment comes from the retired Say It In Style Stamp Set}

The second card I made I’m not overly in love with, and let’s be honest with ourselves….we’ve all made cards that we just feel “eh” about. This is definitely one of them. I think if I had a little more time to play with this card I could have made it better, but as I mentioned before I was short on time. For this card I used multiple layers of B&T Duos™ from the CTMH Timberline Paper Packet, cut the frame using the Artiste Cricut® Cartridge, and used a sentiment from the CTMH Holiday Tags Stamp Set in CTMH Twilight Exclusive Ink™.

I hope you had a great weekend celebrating all the great dads in your lives!!
