#30yearsofhappy

I love this #30yearsofhappy Stamp Set, which just so happens to be a set of 30 images, so I had to use it on one of our projects this month!! To give you a little background info on this stamp set, it was designed to celebrate Jeanette Lynton‘s, CTMH’s founder and CEO, 30 years in the stamping and papercrafting industry. What an amazing accomplishment! Big congrats to Jeanette!!

Card #1

CTMH: #30yearsofhappy

The “it’s your day” patterned paper actually is NOT patterned paper, but rather a repeat of a stamped image from the #30yearsofhappy Stamp Set. I used the “it’s your day” ticket image and Thistle Exclusive Ink™ to create the backdrop on the White Daisy Cardstock. I then sided it with Confetti Wishes B&T Duo™. Next I used Canary Exclusive Ink™ and Pacifica Exclusive Ink™ and the butterfly stamp from the same #30yearsofhappy Stamp Set. After fussy cutting the butterflies I paired them together and added a few Clear Sparkles. The sentiment box is from the Brushed Workshop On The Go® {WOTG} Stamp Set in Canary Exclusive Ink™ and the sentiment is from the Your Own Kind Of Wonderful Stamp Set in Pacifica Exclusive Ink™. Add a little Silver Shimmer Trim and some 3D Foam Tape and this card is complete! {This is card is based off this sketch from Papertrey Ink.}

 Card #2

CTMH: Brushed WOTG

Again starting with a standard white card base, I took a Sponge Dauber, Canary Exclusive Ink™, and a Spray Pen on a My Acyrlix® Block to create the muted yellow background on the card. Next I grabbed the leaf image from the Brushed WOTG Stamp Set and Pear Exclusive Ink™ and doubled layered the image. The “joy captured” and “memories made” are both from the Brushed WOTG Stamp Set and are stamped using Thistle Exclusive Ink™. I grabbed the splotchy stamp, also from the Brushed WOTG Stamp Set, and the hearts, from the September Stamp Of The Month-Family Is Forever, in Whisper Exclusive Ink™. I’m completely in L.O.V.E. with the Brushed WOTG Stamp Set and you will be seeing it many more times I’m sure!! {This card is based off this sketch from Papertrey Ink.}

Creative Blog Tour

I have the honor this week of participating in the Creative Blog Tour! I was nominated by a fellow CTMH consultant and friend, Amie Kiger. You can click on the link to read the nomination post!! Amie is a very talented papercrafter and I am continually inspired by her artwork so I am truly honored that she chose me to participate in this blog hop!!

1. What am I currently working on?

Every month I host a monthly workshop hostess club at my home. A group of 11 ladies come to my home each month and I provide free make & takes highlighting new techniques and CTMH product. They each get to take turns earning the hostess rewards. So currently I am working on the make & takes samples for my club gals! Here’s a peek at one of the cards we will be creating. I’ll be posting the full projects soon so be sure to subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss out on all the details!

2. How does my work differ from others in its genre?

I’m not afraid to make mistakes but I’m also a perfectionist…{sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it?!?} If I try something new and I don’t like how it turns out I just start over, but I will continue to start over until I am happy with the end result!! {<—there’s the perfectionist coming out!!} I love hot new trends and love trying new techniques. I love that each person’s perspective and outcome is different. We all have different ideas pop into our heads when we look at stamp sets, embellishments, paper, etc. There is no wrong way to create!! LOVE THAT!

3. Why do I create what I do?

I started collecting papercrafting products 10+ years ago, but I really didn’t start creating until my son was born. He was born 14 weeks premature and was in the NICU was 12 weeks. I kept a journal of his day to day and also took photos of him everyday. I wanted to combine those two things so I compiled my first scrapbook of his time in the NICU after he was home. I was hooked after that and my hobby quickly turned into a passion. After scrapbooking for a few years I started cardmaking also!!

If you scroll through my blog you will notice a lot of CTMH!! I am a CTMH consultant and more recently a lot of what I create is to promote all of the great products CTMH offers. CTMH is how I was introduced into papercrafting {all those years ago} by attending a friend’s home gathering, and when my local Archiver’s closed I knew I wanted needed to have easy access to great papercrafting product. I’ve always loved CTMH’s quality and it just seemed like the right time to sign up as an independent consultant. I have NEVER regretted that decision.

4. How does my creative process work?

My creative process, like everyone else, starts with some type of inspiration. I am a mother of a 6 year old boy and I also work full time so finding the time to get crafty can be tricky! A majority of the time I will start with a sketch or a theme of some sort, for instance, a blog hop featuring a certain paper packet or stamp set. I also follow A LOT of papercrafting blogs, and find so much inspiration from the papercrafting community. I also love working with sketch, color, and word challenges. I really do enjoy working with a deadline!! ….and let’s not forget the inspiration that is found on Pinterest.

Now for the really fun part!! I get to nominate other papercrafters that inspire me to keep this hop going!

I nominate Vicki Wiznuik– She is a fellow CTMH consultant and her artwork is stunning!

I also nominate Stephanie Davis– She is one of my Damask Diva teammates and I am continually inspired by her artwork on our monthly blog hops!
