AHSC #154 (and another video!!)

I’m back again with another card for Atlantic Hearts! I also have another process video to share!! I’m having a lot of fun creating the process videos and think it will become something I do on a very regular basis!!

CTMH-Packages, Boxes & Tags. Mixed Media Card with a Process Video

For my card I started with a white cardstock base. I next added a layer of Whisper Cardstock. When I initially saw the sketch (which is posted below) I immediately thought the tag in the sketch was tucked into a pocket. So I used a bone folder and made score lines to create a pocket. I also added a scallop border edge along the front flap.

I wanted to add a little texture to the card so I grabbed white acrylic paint and painted a messy background on the Whisper Cardstock. After the paint was dry it still didn’t have the look I was going for. I grabbed a little more paint and a polka dot brayer to give the cardstock more coverage and to add more texture. After the paint was dry it was a little too bright so I added a layer of vellum. The tags I’m using are cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge on 3 different colors: yellow, dark blue, and an orangey pink. Those tags coordinate with the CTMH Packages, Boxes, and Tags Stamp Set. I stamped images from that stamp set in Versamark™ Ink and used white embossing powder to make those images pop off the cardstock.

I added stitching around the border of the Whisper Cardstock and across the Baker’s Twine bow I added on the scalloped border. To finish things off I added a silver puffy heart to the center tag, Clear Sparkles and Baker’s Twine through the holes on the tags.

Now take a look how it all came together!!

Make Everyday Awesome!

Scrapbooking truly is my first papercrafting love and I have another layout to share with you today! I also have another YouTube video to share!

Make Everyday Awesome!

This layout has a white cardstock base and I’m unsure of the manufacturer…I think it’s Basic Grey but it’s been in my stash A LONG TIME! I added a layer of white gesso and then Crazy Daisy & Green with Envy Aqua Huez Paints from Shimmerz. Next I grabbed the bold striped pattern paper from MME, a Project Life card from Hip Kit Club, and vellum to mat under my photo.

Once I had the photo cluster down I started embellishing. I added a lot of Pink Fresh Studio including the swirly embellishments beside the photo, the washi tape, the puffy word sticker, the wood veneer asterisk & the paper heart. There is also quite a bit of Basic Grey; including the flowers, the ruler piece along the top of the photo cluster, and the enamel dots. All of the Basic Grey & Pink Fresh Studio embellishments came from the March Kit from Hip Kit Club.

I also added some tangled thread, stitching in the corners of the photo cluster, and a vellum butterfly (from a Hip Kit Club cut file) that was left over from a previous project.

Make Everyday Awesome!

The title, Make Everyday Awesome, is from The Say Anything Cut File from The Cut Shoppe and is sprayed with Heidi Swapp Butter Color Shine. The Butter color matches the Shimmerz paints beautifully! I am linking this layout to The Cut Shoppe Blog ‘Cut It Out’ April Challenge.

As promised here is the process video to accompany the layout!
