AHSC #112

It’s time for another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! I altered the sketch slightly for my card by rotating the sketch counterclockwise.

CTMH: Skylark

I then used a white card base followed by a layer of Whisper Cardstock. I cut three tags, in Outdoor Denim Cardstock, retired Bubblegum Cardstock, and retired Skylark B&T, using the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge. I then added baker’s twine through all of the holes on the tags. Once I had my tags in place, I added 3 rows of zigzag stitching and added a few Silver Sequins on the card. The sentiment comes from the Finding the Words Stamp Set in Outdoor Denim Exclusive Ink™.

This sketch would be super cute using strips of paper or washi tape! What will you come up with?!? Be sure to link your card at the AHSC site!

AHSC #110

I was out of the loop for a few weeks because of issues with my computer, but I’m back for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #110.

CTMH: Happy Birds

I started with a textured white cardstock base and added a layer of Crystal Blue Cardstock. When I saw the sketch my first immediate thought was to use washi tape for the background strips but I couldn’t figure out a way to make it work. So instead I grabbed my Score Board and randomly scored lines on the blue cardstock. Next I grabbed a scrap piece of the same textured white cardstock and I heat embossed a bird from the Happy Birds Stamp Set using White Embossing Powder. I then used a couple Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry & Mustard Seed) to color the cardstock. I matted that piece of cardstock onto another piece of the textured cardstock that gets its shape from the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge. The sentiment, from the retired Happy Birthday Stamp set, is heat embossed using White Embossing Powder directly onto the blue cardstock. I love how the sentiment has a flow to it…almost like the words are singing right on the paper! I added a few Bitty Sparkles & Mini Staples to finish things off.
