Welcome to the 2nd Blog Hops with Heart blog hop! This month we are featuring the CTMH White Pines Paper Packet with a “12 Days of Christmas” theme. My take on the hop this month is slightly modified. Modified in the way that I changed the lyrics to fit my project! Ha! Instead of “Partridge in a Pear Tree” I have a project highlighting us decorating our Christmas Tree. I did incorporate some gold into the layout so that counts for something, right?!?

I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe to create my background on a piece of B&T paper from the White Pines Paper Packet. I then backed the cut file with a piece of Colonial White Cardstock. Next I started layering other pieces of B&T and cardstock from the White Pines Paper Packet. I tore the edges to expose the white core of the papers. Once I had the general feel of how this layout was going to go down I started adding flair, including stickers from the White Pines Complements and Assortment. I added gold stitching around the layout and also tucked some messy leftover strands under the flair button. The title is another cut file from The Cut Shoppe and is painted in Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. I finished with my journaling, a Heidi Swapp date stamp, and a few splashes of Gold Color Shine.

These photos are dear to my heart. This Christmas tree was the tree my siblings and I would decorate each year growing up. It’s one of those pain in the rear, fluff each branch, find the peg hole for the branch to fit in, not pre-lit Christmas trees. BUT I LOVE IT! So many memories tied into this tree. These photos were taken as I was walking into our living room, the french doors framing the scene, Aidan reaching up to place an ornament, me having a flashback of decorating the tree with my mom when I was his age. Maybe any tree would remind me of the memories of decorating the tree when I was younger but it seems that this tree is special.
