Sangria + Watercolor

About 6 months ago I joined Big Picture Classes. I’m in love. So many great classes, tutorials, and inspiration.  One of the classes that is available is a watercolor class and the layout I have to show you today is directly inspired from that class.

CTMH: Sangria + Watercolor (BPC inspired)

Please click on the photos to enlarge so you can get the full detail of this awesome leaf stamp set!!!

This is a little unlike my normal style. I’m typically very clean and simple. This layout has multiple layers, paint splatters, and a lot of embellies. After I assembled the layout I felt that my pictures were drowning in the busyness. I added hand stitching around the photos to help draw your eyes to the pictures. Those sweet, sweet pictures of my then 3 year old. Now I will try my best to give you the names of the materials used for this layout, but I’ve recently reorganized my papercrafting stash after I viewed this BPC on time management. I actually took the product out of the packaging which makes the products super accessible but difficult to name!!

AHSC #126

It’s Monday!! Do you know what that means?!? It’s time for another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

AHSC #126

For my card I started with a White Daisy Cardstock base followed by a layer of retired Later Sk8r B&T. I’ve been dying to get my hands on the new Ink Blot Stamp Set, but it’s among maaannnny other new items so I haven’t had a chance to purchase it yet!! Instead I grabbed what I had handy which was the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! and used Versamark™ Ink along with Silver Embossing Powder to add to the paint splash look of the B&T. Then I grabbed a scrap piece of Watercolor Cardstock and used the Amy Tangerine Aspire Stamp Set to stamp the camera and arrow with Archival Black Exclusive Ink™. Using Watercolor Paints I created the colored background and then added a sentiment from the retired Geometric Thoughts Stamp Set.

AHSC #126

I wanted to add a little more shine to the card so I grabbed a scrap piece of White Daisy Cardstock, swiped Versamark™ Ink along the edge of the cardstock, heated with Silver Embossing Powder, and then tucked it under the B&T. There’s a great tutorial from Jennifer McGuire showing this technique which you can find here. I then layered the watercolor piece with another piece of White Daisy Cardstock, added black stitching and silver sequins that I found at Wal-Mart.

AHSC126Now it’s your turn to head over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and enter your interpretation of this week’s sketch!
