AHSC #154 (and another video!!)

I’m back again with another card for Atlantic Hearts! I also have another process video to share!! I’m having a lot of fun creating the process videos and think it will become something I do on a very regular basis!!

CTMH-Packages, Boxes & Tags. Mixed Media Card with a Process Video

For my card I started with a white cardstock base. I next added a layer of Whisper Cardstock. When I initially saw the sketch (which is posted below) I immediately thought the tag in the sketch was tucked into a pocket. So I used a bone folder and made score lines to create a pocket. I also added a scallop border edge along the front flap.

I wanted to add a little texture to the card so I grabbed white acrylic paint and painted a messy background on the Whisper Cardstock. After the paint was dry it still didn’t have the look I was going for. I grabbed a little more paint and a polka dot brayer to give the cardstock more coverage and to add more texture. After the paint was dry it was a little too bright so I added a layer of vellum. The tags I’m using are cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge on 3 different colors: yellow, dark blue, and an orangey pink. Those tags coordinate with the CTMH Packages, Boxes, and Tags Stamp Set. I stamped images from that stamp set in Versamark™ Ink and used white embossing powder to make those images pop off the cardstock.

I added stitching around the border of the Whisper Cardstock and across the Baker’s Twine bow I added on the scalloped border. To finish things off I added a silver puffy heart to the center tag, Clear Sparkles and Baker’s Twine through the holes on the tags.

Now take a look how it all came together!!

AHSC #152

It’s time again for an Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

American Crafts, Dear Lizzy, Gold Foil, Minc Card

I started with a top folded white cardstock base and added a layer of navy blue polka dot paper from American Crafts. I next added a layer of Kraft Cardstock that I dry embossed using a Dear Lizzy Banner Embossing Folder. I then used a Dear Lizzy die to cut a prize ribbon on another American Crafts patterned paper and bright pink cardstock. Before adhering the prize ribbon to the card base, I used the CTMH Stitch Guide, a scrap piece of packaging and embroidery floss to create a shaker pocket that I filled with loose sequins.

The sentiment is adhered directly to the clear plastic and comes from the same Dear Lizzy die cut set. I cut the sentiment on toner paper and ran through my Minc to match the gold foil polka dots on the patterned paper. This photo really shows the shine from the gold foil! I also added hand stitching along the edges of the tails of the prize ribbon. For the final touches I scattered a few extra sequins around the card.
