Deepest Sympathy

The cards I make are typically made for card challenges and I save them in my stash to send out as an occasion arises. This card, on the other hand, was made for someone in particular, and is my least favorite type of card to send out. Our community suffered a great loss this past week by the passing of a man who touched many lives. My husband and I were fortunate to be his neighbor for almost 9 years, and he will be missed by many.

Christmas Kisses

Today’s theme is from a new challenge for me, The Paper Players.

When I saw this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch, I knew exactly how I wanted to lay this card out!

I’ve been in a Christmas mood lately with my cards, and this card was no exception.

Starting with a basic White Daisy Cardstock base, I added mistletoe that was cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge in New England Ivy and Ruby Cardstock. I used a Bone Folder to create the dimension in the center of the mistletoe and I also used a Sponge Dauber along with Ruby Exclusive Ink® and New England Ivy Exclusive Ink® to the edges of the mistletoe. Next I used a Corner Rounder on all of the edges of the patterned paper which is from the Sparkle & Shine Paper Packet (that is ONLY AVAILABLE until December 31!!). The sentiment is from the Season’s Tweeting Gift Bag Kit (also ONLY AVAILABLE until December 31!!) and is stamped in Ruby Exclusive Ink®.

CAS {Clean and Simple} cards tend to be the most difficult and time consuming cards for me to create. It seems like it should be the opposite, right?!? The definition of CAS alone seems like it should be “simple”, but if you haven’t tried this for yourself….give it a shot, you’ll see what I’m talking about! I love a good challenge and CAS cards definitely challenge me!!
