Hey friends! I’m back to share a layout that was recently on The Cut Shoppe Blog using the Brush Up Alpha Cut File and the Selfies & Usies Cut File.

I started in Cricut Design Space by slicing out the individual letters from the Brush Up Alpha Cut File. I cut each letter for the word ‘Elevator’ four times and then stacked them together to create dimension. I repeated the same steps for the word ‘Usie’ from the Selfies & Usies Cut File. Now I have to admit that I didn’t even realize the word ‘usie’ was a thing! I looked up the word ‘usie’ to be sure I was using it properly, and sure enough, any photo that has 2 or more people is an usie. I always thought that these types of photos fell into the ‘selfie’ category! Who knew?!

I also cut a large circle in Cricut Design Space on a piece of purple cardstock and backed the circle with a patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Oh My Heart Collection designed by Paige Evans. I then placed my title on the layout. I had originally planned on using the same purple cardstock for my title, but loved how the white cardstock just popped off the page!

Next I started working on my photo cluster. I used multiple die cuts from the Pink Paislee Oh My Heart Collection designed by Paige Evans. My photo is an usie taken in an elevator from our trip to Chicago last summer. Thankfully my family plays along with my incessant need to take photos! Ha!

I also tucked die cuts from the Oh My Heart Collection along the edge of the circle. I also added a few chipboard pieces from the Thickers sheet and a washi strip from the Oh My Heart sticker book. I added my journaling to my page using my We R Memory Keepers Typecast Typewriter. To help the layout look more complete I added hand stitching using white embroidery floss around the perimeter of the circle.

#Hustle | The Cut Shoppe

Hey crafty friends!! I’m back today with a new layout that was recently shared on The Cut Shoppe Blog using the Going Geo Cut File.

I started with a light kraft cardstock base and added a wash of white acrylic paint to the background. In Cricut Design Space I enlarged the “Go” Geotag, included in the Going Geo Cut File set, to 10.5″ and cut the image on a pattern paper from the Amy Tangerine-On A Whim Collection. The white acrylic paint helps the cut file image pop off the background and to add a little more definition to the cut file I added hand stitching using hot pink embroidery floss.

After the hand stitching was complete I moved on the photo. I added a couple layers of white tissue paper and fun foam to the photo to help elevate it from the background. I tucked multiple die cuts, clear stickers, and stickers from the On A Whim sticker book around the photo for extra pops of color. I love all of the bright colors in this collection!

The title of my page is #Hustle from the On A Whim chipboard sticker sheet. After I received this sticker sheet I wasn’t sure how I would use the word ‘Hustle’. When I think of this word I think of sports related activities but I don’t have those type of photos to scrapbook. Then I remembered that I had this photo of the airport from a recent trip we went on. We were going to Vegas and had a terrible experience with the airline! Our flight was cancelled as we were walking out the door to head to the airport and we couldn’t find another flight out from the original airport because, like us, everyone on the cancelled flight was looking for another flight out. We ended up finding seats at a different airport but had to HUSTLE to make it there on time. We arrived at the gate as the plane was boarding, but we made it! This photo was actually taken after we had returned home because I didn’t have one second to snap a photo as we were running into the airport to try to make our outgoing flight! This memory is actually one that stands out the most in my head from this vacation so it is fitting that it will be the opening page to our Vegas scrapbook.

I added the journaling using my We R Memory Keepers Typecast Typewriter, cut the journaling into strips, and added it directly under my photo. I finished the layout by adding splatters of Hot Pink Heidi Swapp Color Shine.

I’ve also put together a process video showing how this layout came together!

Thank you so much for joining me today and remember to head over to The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store to check out all of the cut files!
