CTMH: Scaredy Cat & Frightfully Fun- Inspired by Nichol Magouirk

This month I made a card using the Scaredy Cat Paper Packet that was inspired by this card from Nichol Spohr Magouirk.

CTMH: Scaredy Cat & Frightfully Fun

I started with a Kraft Cardstock base followed by two filmstrips cut in Black Cardstock using the Artbooking Cricut® Cartridge. I used the Scaredy Cat Paper Packet to fill in the filmstrips and the Frightfully Fun Stamp Set for all the images and text. The fun Halloween images were stamped in Archival Black Exclusive Ink™ and then colored using the ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers. I then used 3D Foam Tape to pop the images off the card and added the Halloween slogans in CTMH Black Exclusive Ink™.

Now onto the bling…. The sparkles are from the CTMH Clear Sparkle Assortment. Now I just said clear sparkles but did you notice my sparkles are gray, orange, and purple?!? The ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers are made for more than just coloring paper! Just take the tip of the marker to your sparkles, sequins, ribbons and color! BOOM! You now have a custom colored embellishment! Those adorable black resin stars are from the Scaredy Cat Assortment.

I hope you’ve found inspiration on my blog! Now head on over to Amie Kiger’s blog to see what she has made with this fun paper packet!

Exploring

For today’s post I’m featuring NEW product from the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

The first project is this scrapbook page based off this sketch by Rochelle Spears.

A couple tips and tricks for this layout:

#1- If you’re trying to stamp a larger image and are looking for a crisp, clear image Archival Black Exclusive Ink™ is your best friend. I love that I can use my normal Spritz Cleaner to clean the archival ink from the stamp {versus StazOn™ Cleaner which I find to be greasy and messy, but absolutely necessary when using StazOn™ Ink}.

CTMH: Wanderful WOTG

#2-Paper piece your images as I did with the “I want to make memories…” stamped image. It’s simple to do and adds so much dimension to your project. I simply stamped the image three times. Twice in Archival Black Exclusive Ink™ and once in Glacier Exclusive Ink™. I then cut out the Glacier (blue) globe and the Black “world” and layered them atop each other. I added a little 3D Foam Tape to the “world” to help it pop off the page.

CTMH: Handwritten Print

#3- Give your titles and subtitle dimension by stamping them multiple times in different ink colors. I stamped my title using Glacier Exclusive Ink™ and then followed by stamping it again with Black Exclusive Ink™. By just slightly offsetting the colors it gives a shadowed appearance. I used the same concept using Flaxen Exclusive Ink™ and Black Exclusive Ink™ with the “This way, That way” stamps.

August SOTM

I wanted to show how versatile this stamp set can be! Can you see which image I used to create the petals?

CTMH: August SOTM What A Hoot!

I do not consider myself an expert when it comes to coloring/blending alcohol markers. I really hope to improve as time goes on, but I came across a few helpful hints as I made this card.

#1-If you are unfamiliar with alcohol markers, they are blendable. Meaning you can create multiple colors and shadow effects by layering different colors on top of each other.

#2- Dye Ink is not your friend when using alcohol markers. You will want to use Pigment Ink or Archival Ink and be sure it is COMPLETELY dry before coloring.

#3- If you’re short on time and need to color immediately use a craft heater to set {dry} the ink.
