CTMH | Papercrafting with Kelly Janes

It’s been a little while since I’ve entered a sketch challenge, so I feel it’s time for a new!

This sketch comes from Seize the Sketch, and is linked to their blog for this week’s challenge.

Here is my rendition:

One of the great things about sketch challenges is the sketch leaves great room for interpretation. This being case in point, I rotated the sketch to better enhance the elements I chose to use.

Close To My Heart is releasing a Holidays From The Heart Gift Guide that will be available to purchase from starting October 15 and this BRAND NEW fantastic stamp set, Charming Chevron, is included in that guide. As are the sparkles which coordinate perfectly with the stamp set! The paper packet, Sparkle and Shine, is also going to be released in the new gift guide. I added a subtle background by using a Sizzix® dry embossing folder, and the sentiment is cut using the Cricut® Artbooking Cartridge in Ruby Cardstock.

The Holiday Gift Guide is full of Christmas cheer (Including this new Christmas themed paper packet, multiple stamp sets, a gift bag kit, a new Workshop on the Go, etc) and there are also stamp sets for everyday use! Did I mention 2 new sets of Washi Tape bundles?!?! (if you remember from a previous post Washi Tape is kinda my obsession!!)

Today I have a couple birthday themed projects for you including a gift bag!

Using paper from the Chantilly Paper Packet I cut long banners and attached a bow using Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon to the handle. This ribbon is great because you can color it with any ink color you choose! No need to buy ribbon in multiple colors anymore!!! I chose not to add any ink to the ribbon, and it still looks fantastic leaving it white!!!

Using the Cricut® Art Philosophy Collection, I cut two journaling tags ( 2 inches and 2 ¼ inches) and used a coordinating stamp set that comes with the Art Philosophy collection for the face of the tag using Cotton Candy Exclusive Ink. I also used the Universal Backgrounds Stamp Set in the same color for the design on the background tag. Don’t forget your 3D Foam Tape to add dimension to the tag!! I tied the tag to the bag using Natural Hemp.

One of the great things I LOVE about the Art Philosophy Collection is there are a variety of 3D flowers that can be cut! To give the tag a little POP I used one of those flowers in Cotton Candy Cardstock and added a little Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel to the center to liven it up!!!
