This card is a two for one! CAS-ual Fridays and Curtain Call Inspiration have teamed up this week so this card is linked to both of their blogs for their current challenges!!
Starting with a layer of New England Ivy Cardstock, I added a layer of Kraft Cardstock using a Corner Rounder on one of the edges.
The stamping portion of this card was actually done in reverse order. Normally I would stamp the stems of the wreath, then the leaves, and finally emboss the gold bulbs. I tried doing it in that order the first time and the ink just stayed too wet for too long {even when I used my craft heater to dry it} and I wasn’t getting the definition of the bulbs. {The whole wreath was gold embossed instead of just the bulbs} So I started by FIRST heat embossing the bulbs, from the Remarkable Wreath Stamp Set, using Versamark® and Gold Embossing Powder. I then stamped the stems of the wreath in Cocoa Exclusive Ink®, then adding a double layer of leaves from the same stamp set in New England Ivy Exclusive Ink® and Pear Exclusive Ink®. The bow is “fussy cut” and stamped using Ruby Exclusive Ink®. The sentiment is from the Perfect Fit-Holidays Stamp Set in New England Ivy Exclusive Ink®.
This card just goes to show that even a decade into papercrafting that there will still be new tricks and techniques that will be learned through trial and error!
