Sending Love

Today’s sketch comes from the Just Us Girls Challenge.

Starting with a White Daisy Cardstock base I added a B&T Duo® from the Laughing Lola Paper Packet. I then added a thin strip of Black & Grey Glitter Paper at the base of the B&T Duo®. Next taking 3 pieces of Black Cardstock I stamped my images in Versamark® and heat embossed the images using white embossing powder. After my images were heat embossed I went back over the cardstock with White Daisy{Pigment} Exclusive Ink® and a Round Sponge to create a chalkboard look.

My stamped images come from a variety of Close To My Heart My Acyrlix® Stamp Sets. The bicycle comes from the School Years Stamp Set. The dotted image that gives the card it’s motion comes from the Sightseer Stamp Set. I also added a few sequins to aid in the motion of the card!! The sentiment comes from the Lifting Spirits Stamp Set and the polka dots & the hearts on the wheels of the bicycle come from the It’s Your Day Stamp Set {retired}.

The current theme at The Paper Players Challenge is the chalkboard technique so this card is also linked to their blog!!

This also rounds up Day #6 {polka dots} for the Project A Day Challenge!!

Still Floating on Cloud Nine

I had posted earlier this week about the fantastic Cloud Nine Cardmaking Kit that Close To My Heart is offering during the month of January. {If you missed that post click here} Today I’m using this sketch from Unscripted Sketches to show you how you can use the great stamp set and the embellishments that are included with current paper packets.

CTMH: Cloud Nine & Laughing Lola

Starting with a white card base*, I added a strip of Black & Grey Glitter Paper and a strip of Teal Shimmer Tape*. I also added a double strip of the Gold Polka Dot Washi Tape*. Next I added a B&T Duo from the Laughing Lola Paper Packet, and stamped the sentiment from the Cloud Nine Stamp Set* onto the White Die Cut Sheet* in Lagoon Exclusive Ink®. To give the card added dimension I adhered the sentiment to the card using 3D Foam Tape. To add a little more shimmer I added a few sequins that I purchased at Walmart in the craft section!!

Sorry for bombarding your email with my blog post notifications today! I’ve desperately been trying to catch up with the Project A Day Challenge, and this card completes day #5 {use washi tape} so I am officially caught up!! Phew!!

Tips & Tricks:
-To help make the polka dots line up on the Polka Dot Washi Tape adhere the tape onto a scrap piece of paper that matches your card base. Trim the edges of the scrap paper to the size and dimension that you are needing for your card.
-The Cloud Nine Stamp Set coordinates with the Artiste Cricut® Cartridge. When the White Daisy Die Cut Sheets have been completely used just simply cut the images out on your Cricut®. No fussy cutting!!! Love that!
-To better handle the small sequins use Fine Tip Tweezers to hold the sequins when you apply the Liquid Glass to the back of the sequins.
