I came across this sketch on Pinterest and knew exactly how I wanted to use it!!

I started with a white card base and multiple B&T Duos® from the Brushed Paper Packet. I wanted the smaller B&T Duo® strips to have more definition so I grabbed a Sponge Dauber, Canary Exclusive Ink™, and Hollyhock Exclusive Ink™ to distress the edges. After I had the B&T Duos®, and Topiary Striped Washi Tape adhered to the card base I grabbed my Stitch Guide, Paper Piercer, and embroidery floss to create the circle. I grabbed the Hollyhock Exclusive Ink™ again and stamped three butterfly images and the sentiment from the #30yearsofhappy Stamp Set. I fussy cut the butterflies and added one Bitty Sparkle to each butterfly.

One tip I wanted to share after making this card….After I pierced the holes in my card using my stitch guide I realized that the bottom portion of the circle was very close to the edge of the card. I thought I would just give it a go, but as I made my way around the card it tore the B&T Duo®. I cut off that portion and replaced that area on the card with the same sheet of B&T. I needed the card to be more sturdy to finish stitching the circle so I adhered the large pink/yellow bokeh B&T Duo® to a large piece of scrap cardstock to give that portion of my card more support as I finished stitching. After I had completed the stitching I trimmed the excess cardstock away from the B&T. I am a perfectionist and I don’t like this aspect of my card, but I already had the top portion of my circle stitched and didn’t want to start completely over. So apparently I’m a lazy perfectionist!! LOL!
