AHSC #128

It’s Monday so it’s time for another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

CTMH: Spook Alley & Nevermore

AHSC128

I started by rotating the sketch counterclockwise. I used the Nevermore Paper Packet for the B&T papers and the yellow circle, aka the moon, was just a scrap from my stash. The tree is a felt shape that was available from CTMH years ago (Heartfelt Felt Shapes) that was originally a chocolate brown color that I altered using black acrylic paint. I substituted the second small circle for the cute cat image that is stamped on Slate Cardstock. The cat and sentiment are from the retired CTMH stamp set, Spook Alley, that I heat embossed using Black Pigment Ink and Clear Embossing Powder. The sentiment comes on the carrier sheet in a straight line, but because the CTMH clear polymer stamps are pliable I was able to manipulate the sentiment to fit around the circle. I wanted to give the gray B&T a little definition so I heat embossed the edge of the B&T using the same mini Black Pigment Ink Pad and Clear Embossing Powder.

Now it’s difficult to see in the pictures but the felt tree has a lot of dimension so I stamped, fussy cut, and layered 4 of the same cat image to give the cat more dimension. After I added some stitching I adhered the B&Ts to a top folding piece of White Daisy Cardstock. Once the card was assembled it looked like the cat and tree were just floating on the card, so I placed a K&Company grass border on the bottom of the card to ground the cat & tree. For final embellies I added a bow tie to the cat from the Stuck On You Puffies sticker sheet & White Enamel Stars that I altered using the Black Shinhan™ Touch Twin™ Marker.

I would love to see your interpretation of AHSC #128! Head over to Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge and enter your card today!
Thanks for stopping by!
