I actually hit my goal this week and had my card for AHSC completed, photographed, edited, my blog post written and scheduled to post by Sunday! And on top of it all it was Super Bowl weekend! I guess it helps that neither my husband or myself are interested in football so that freed up some time on Sunday!
For my card this week I used a white cardstock base with a layer of chevron patterned paper from American Crafts and a scrap piece of Outdoor Denim Cardstock at the top of the panel. Next I stitched on two layers of vellum. I grabbed a few wood veneer pieces from my stash and painted them with Heidi Swapp gold paint. It’s hard to tell in the photo but the paint is very shimmery/shiny and adds a great effect on the card. For the sentiment I used an American Crafts Die on a piece of CTMH Gold Glitter Paper.
This card was a lot of fun to put together and I love the bold chevron paper! Now it’s your turn to head to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and enter your papercrafting project based off Sketch #146!
Thanks for stopping by!

Love this! Great look with the bold paper and then Using the vellum to tone it down but still let it show through….I keep forgetting to use vellum! Love it!
Thanks Lisa! Vellum is my favorite!! I use it on almost every project! I just love the look & texture is brings!
Wow- So pretty! That dragonfly is the finishing touch! Such a great job! 🙂
Thank you so much! I really played around with all my wood veneer pieces until I finally decided on this dragonfly! It’s been sitting in my stash for a long time and I’m determined to use up some of my collection this year!!
I love the colors on this card!
Thank you! That chevron paper is beautiful!!!
