Hey there friends! I’m back with a new layout for Hip Kit Club! This is my first layout using the February 2017 Kits and they are GORGEOUS!

I was immediately drawn to the blue American Crafts Textured Peacock Cardstock from the Cardstock Kit and decided to use it as my background. I then arranged three tags designed by Claudia Van R from her new Pretty Little Studio collection, With All My Heart. I arranged multiple florals from this same collection around the tags. I needed to add just a few more layers so I grabbed a few butterflies and camera sticker from the Maggie Holmes-Chasing Dreams sticker sheet. All of these items, the tags, florals, and Maggie Holmes sticker sheet are included in the Embellishment Kit this month.

I moved onto my photo cluster once I had the basis of the tags arranged. My photo was taken last summer on our trip to Chicago so the map ephemera piece from the Maggie Holmes-Chasing Dreams ephemera pack was the perfect layering piece! I also used the word ‘Hello’ from this same Maggie Holmes ephemera pack, included in the Main Kit, for a portion of the title on the top tag.  I like to mix fonts so I grabbed the beautiful glittery gold Thickers, included in the Main Kit, to spell out the word ‘Chicago’. Have you had a chance to really check out these alphas?! The glittery gold is gorgeous all on its own, but the base of these letters is a pink foam! AH! Love them!

I felt like the top and bottom of the layout was looking a little bare so I grabbed one of the beautiful Maggie Holmes-Chasing Dreams patterned papers from the Main Kit. I cut the paper into two small strips, added a layer of vellum and also a couple rows of machine stitching.

I added a few other odds and ends to the layout, including a few more die cuts from the Chasing Dreams ephemera pack and baker’s twine (from my stash) through the holes on the tags. I typed my journaling using my WRMK’s Typecast Typewriter, cut it into thin strips, and added the strips to the white space on the left tag.
