YAY! The Cut Shoppe is back releasing new designs on a regular basis and today I’m sharing a layout with one of those new designs, The Autumn Acres Cut File.

I started in Cricut Design Space by slicing out the large open leaf cut file image. I duplicated and cut the image numerous times on a piece of White Cardstock. I then painted those cut file images with Shimmerz Paints Great Fruit Creameez and backed a few of the open areas using a green patterned paper from the Maggie Holmes Gather 6×6 Paper Pad and vellum.

I then moved onto the background of the layout. I grabbed a woodgrain patterned paper from the Maggie Holmes Gather Paper Pad and added a layer of White Gesso to the background. I then grabbed numerous mixed media mediums including: Shimmerz Paints Glorious Day Vibez and a yellow watercolor from the Prima Tropicals Watercolor Confections using the packaging technique.

After the mixed media was dry, I adhered the cut files to the background and added hand stitching to the leaves using white embroidery floss. I added a few layers of tissue paper behind my photo and raised the photo from the background using fun foam. I then added the title to the page using the word “Sweet” from the Maggie Holmes Gather Chipboard Thickers Sheet and the word “Fall” using the gold foam Hazel Thickers from the One Canoe Two Hazelwood Collection. I grabbed a couple small chipboard pieces from the same Maggie Holmes Chipboard Sheet and adhered them as accents under the title.

I added a couple die cut leaves from the Maggie Holmes Gather Ephemera Pack to the left of the photo. I also added in a few gold hearts from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams Sticker Sheet, a scattering of Pebbles Leaf Rub-Ons and Gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine. This layout only needed minimal embellishing because the cut file speaks volumes all on its own.
