Hey there everyone! I’m back with my 3rd project for Spiegelmom Scraps.
This project is another stash busting layout. I love being able to use up product that has been lingering in my scrap space, but a majority of this, Simple Stories – Vintage Bliss, collection had already made it’s way out of my scrap space and into a purge box. I regularly go through my scrap stash and am pretty brutal at cutting down my supply. I go with my gut reaction on whether or not I think I will use it, and if I don’t think I will then it goes straight into the box. This collection was one that I thought I wouldn’t use just because it didn’t seem to fit my current style given that it was an older collection. But I was wrong! HA!
The only part of this collection that was remaining in my stash was the chipboard stickers and I was immediately drawn to them because of the galoshes and umbrella included in the set. I thought I would create a rainy day layout with this collection, but I couldn’t find any other items that matched well with these colors so into my purge box I went…breaking the only scrapbooking rule I set for myself!
This layout ended up taking a completely different turn and I didn’t even use the galoshes or umbrella that I was immediately drawn to. Instead I grabbed this photo of my dog when he was a puppy, and focused on the bright colors included in the Simple Stories – Vintage Bliss Collection. I did add a mixture of acrylic paint, white gesso and gelatos to the background pattern paper. You can see that fiasco in my process video below! I fussy cut the banner from one of the patterned papers in the collection and stitched it to the background patterned paper.
I added multiple stickers to the background, a doily, a felt cloud from an older Basic Grey Collection and the Spiegelmom Scraps We Are Royals and Sunflower Fields Sequin Mixes. I also typed my journaling using my We R Memory Keepers Typecast Typewriter to add the journaling.
Now you can take a look at my process video showing how this layout came together!
I’ve been creating faster than I can blog so be on the lookout for a lot more projects coming your way soon! Remember to head to the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop to check out of the products and sequin mixes that are available!
