Hey there friends! Today I have a layout to share with you that I recently created for The Cut Shoppe using the Flower Garden Cut File.
I love this cut file, and I was immediately drawn to the florals. I decided to alter the cut file during the upload process, in Cricut Design Space, by erasing the words on the cut file. This way the florals will be uploaded all on their own & ready for me to use without requiring any clean up on the Design Screen. (A step-by-step tutorial for this process can be found in the process video at the end of this blog post.)
I cut the flowers on white cardstock and backed them using a 6×6 Patterned Paper from the Pebbles Patio Party Collection. I tucked my photo under the cut file & positioned Die Cuts and Stickers from the same Patio Party Collection around the layout.
I decided to use a Grid Patterned Paper, from the Patio Party Collection, as my background. But before I adhered anything down, I added a splash of pink to the patterned paper using a Shimmerz Paints mist and the packaging technique. This just adds another pop of color and a little more visual interest to the background.
I needed to figure out a title once that was dry and everything was adhered. I went through my stash and came across an older set of the Bella Blvd Ciao Chipboard Words. I loved the script font & thought it would be the perfect addition to this layout. I didn’t want to leave it stark white so I used the same Shimmerz Paints Pink Mist and a pink gelato to color the bottom portion of the word…giving it an ombre feel. For final touches, I added Black Color Shine splatters and a few lines of journaling using American Crafts Journaling Pens.
Now you can take a look at my process video that includes a Cricut Design Space tutorial.
I’ve fallen way behind on my blog posts so there may be a mass of layouts coming your way very soon! HA! Remember to visit The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store to check out all of the cut files! Ashley has so many wonderful designs in the shop!
