Hey friends! Halloween is by far my favorite holiday to scrapbook and I’ve given myself permission to continue scrapbooking this holiday all the way through November! Today I’m going to share one of the layouts I created last month for The Cut Shoppe using the Wicked Good Cut File.
I cut the circles from the Wicked Good Cut File on a very old Teresa Collins patterned paper that I had saved in my stash after a mixed media disaster fail. There’s a layer of orange acrylic paint and white gesso smeared on the patterned paper. I love how you can see the text pattern peeking out from under the paint on the circles.
Once I had the circles cut, I added messy orange stitching around each circle. I love the added texture that stitching adds to a layout! Going around the paper multiple times helps hide the fact that I can’t stitch a circle to save my life! HA! It gives the appearance that I was trying to be messy! I left the threads long for added embellishing.
I then added all of the circles, including my circle photos, in a diagonal design on a piece of purple Halloween patterned paper from Close To My Heart. I then went onto embellish the layout. I grabbed a lot of older product including: Simple Stories Frankie & Friends, Bella Blvd Spooktacular and other odds and ends from my stash.
I had planned on using the open circle with the bat as my journaling spot, but I didn’t want to add white strips of paper since I didn’t have any white anywhere else on the layout. So instead I grabbed word phrase stickers, from Maggie Holmes & Heidi Swapp, that give context to what is happening in the photos. I then added orange & black enamel dots around the layout.
I love all of the cut files from The Cut Shoppe; especially the Halloween cut files! Be sure to give the Etsy Store a visit to check out everything that is available!
