Hip Kit #1

I recently became a Hip Kit Club subscriber and I am in love with the kits! There is so much product included in the main kit and I can’t help myself from buying the add-ons because everything goes together so beautifully! I have a hoarding complex when it comes to papercrafting and sometimes I really have to talk myself into hacking cutting into a beautiful 12×12 patterned paper! So after receiving 3 kits, I finally decided it was time to get over my phobia and just dive in! Silly isn’t it that I spend so much money on these products and that it feels wrong to actually use them?!? Ha! Does anyone else feel this way, or am I completely crazy?!?

Crate Paper, Maggie Holmes, Shine, Hip Kit Club

This is the December 2015 Kit and it is full of Crate Paper-Maggie Holmes Shine goodness! I only added a few things that were in my stash including the twine for the tags, the black cardstock and the embossing powder. It is difficult to see in the photos but the embossing powder is so glittery!

The photo I used is a little unusual. It’s a screenshot of a random text message my husband sent me. Even after 13 years of being together and 10+ years of marriage he still knows how to speak to my heart. He still shows me that he loves me and that he thinks of me randomly throughout the day. He’s such a great guy and I am so very thankful for him!

13/1

My son attended Cub Scout camp last fall and I had a ton of photos. I wanted to fit as many as I could on one layout and I think I achieved my goal! I was able to get 13 photos on 1 layout! I used a cut file that is exclusively available from Big Picture Classes-Old Favorites with a New Twist taught by Ashley Horton.

I used CTMH’s Urban Paper Packet for the base page. I then cut down all of the photos to fit in the triangle slots and then randomly placed patterned papers in the remaining spaces. I used a majority of scraps from Basic Grey & CTMH (Steampunk Paper Packet & more Urban) and another label I’m unsure of to back the cut file.

I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I’m determined to use my stash this year so I’ve been digging deep to find embellishments!! I used random stickers, arrows and alphas for the title and I also threw on a few CTMH Aqua Dots & Timberline Stickers. I didn’t include journaling on this layout because this event will be a two page spread and I designated a journaling area on the second page.

I love how many photos I was able to incorporate on this single layout!  The cut file helped to tone down the distractions from the busyness of the background in the photos and focus on the smiles of my boy!
