Happy {Belated} World Card Making Day

Yesterday was World Card Making Day!!! Today I’m celebrating by participating in the Retro Sketches Challenge! There challenge this week is a little bit different because you can chose any sketch from their archive. I chose sketch # 34 from October 20. 2012.

I started with a White Daisy Cardstock base and used my Corner Rounder to create the scallop edge <— remove the shield, flip the punch upside down, punch, and line up the scallops as you move along the edge of the paper—> on a B&T Duo from the Seaside Paper Packet. Then I grabbed another piece of White Daisy Cardstock and stamped the flower images using the future November Stamp Of The Month in multiple inks. {Glacier Exclusive Ink™, Pacifica Exclusive Ink™, Blush Exclusive Ink™ [retired], Hollyhock Exclusive Ink™, Flaxen Exclusive Ink™, Sweet Leaf Exclusive Ink™ [retired], and Canary Exclusive Ink™} The sentiment and banner are both from the Funky Blossoms Stamp Set. To finish the card I scattered Clear Sparkles. I’m sure you noticed I altered the sketch slightly…I switched the flower grouping from the bottom of the card to the top, but that is why I enjoy using sketches!! They are meant to be interpreted in your own unique way!

October SOTM-Home For The Holidays Blog Hop

CTMH

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month over 70 CTMH consultants are featuring the October Stamp of the Month, Home For The Holidays, a set of 7 images. If you’ve come from Peachy’s blog you are in the right place. If you’ve started here – no worries! This blog hop is one big circle so you can join in the fun by clicking the link at the bottom of my post to take you to the next consultant and work your way around!! If you happen to get lost along the way there is a full list of participants on Melinda Everitt’s blog.

When I saw this card by Cherry Hill Design I fell in love with it! The polar bear image from the October Stamp of the Month, Home For The Holidays is perfect!

I started with a White Daisy Cardstock and then used the NEW Artfully Sent Cricut® Cartridge with a B&T Duo™ from the Snowhaven Paper Packet. I grabbed another piece of White Daisy Cardstock and created a stencil using the Artbooking Cricut® Cartridge. I used a Round Sponge and Glacier Exclusive Ink™ to create the diagonal backdrop.

I then stamped the polar bear image in CTMH Black Exclusive Ink™ and CTMH Cranberry Exclusive Ink™. I fussy cut the bear and used a sponge dauber and the black ink to make the edges appear crisp. I paper pieced the cranberry scarf onto the bear. I added a piece of black shimmer from the CTMH Black & Grey Glitter Paper and a layer of Slate Polka-Dot Washi Tape {retired} popped up with 3D Foam Tape. {My intentions were to use the Silver Geometric Washi Tape rather than the Slate Washi but I have managed to misplace 4 rolls of washi tape…and the Silver Geometric Washi is included in that missing group!!} The sentiment is from the Magical Moment Stamp Set also stamped in Black Exclusive Ink™. I added a few enamel dots and card done!
