Watercolor Birthday

Papercrafting with Kelly Janes

Tomorrow is my mother in law’s birthday and I needed to make a quick card to send out in the mail, and was inspired by this card made by I Card Everyone. The watercolored panel started out as a scrap piece of White Daisy Cardstock. I stamped the birthday sentiment first in Versamark™ Ink and heat embossed White Embossing Powder. The sentiment comes from two different stamp sets- the “happy” is from the Brushed WOTG Stamp Set & the “birthday” is from the Belated Birthday Stamp Set. After the embossing was finished, I used cheap watercolors that I picked up at Michael’s in an ombre pattern across the embossed sentiment and layered it on top of {what I think is retired} Watermelon Cardstock. I added stitching and Flamingo Dots for the finishing touches.
