Hey friends! I’m back today with two new projects for the Altenew June 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil New Release Blog Hop! If you started the hop from the beginning then you would have come from Reiko Tsuchida’s Blog. If you’ve started here, WELCOME! You can still make your way around the entire hop by clicking the link at the bottom of my post.
I started my first project with a white cardstock background and used the Classy Stripes Stencil and White Embossing Paste to add texture to the cardstock. I then positioned a cut file wreath, that I cut using two different color green cardstocks, on the texture paste. I thought the background needed a little more color to help the stripes pop off the background, so I grabbed a yellow mist from my stash to add a splash of color.
I then stamped florals from the new Peaceful Reverie Stamp Set multiple times using multiple colors (pink, teal, & purple). I also stamped multiple groupings of leaves from the same stamp set. After I had the images stamped and fussy cut (I’m so wishing that I would have also grabbed the Peaceful Reverie Die Set…it’s now on my wishlist! HA!), I realized the colors of the flowers were quite as rich as I was hoping. To help remedy this, I dabbed each of the florals and leaves into my Versamark Pad and used clear embossing powder on each of those images. It really helped deepen the color!
After I had those images all heat embossed, I started tucking the florals in the cut file wreathes. I tucked my 5×7 photo under the wreath as well. I also added machine stitching around the center of the wreath. I added a few fussy cut floral images from a patterned paper from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection and also tucked in a few Chipboard Embellishments from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I added my title using the Black Alphas from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I added a few enamel dots for the final touch.
Now you can take a look at my process video:
For my second project, I used my Cricut to cut a large heart from an ombre patterned paper from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection. I positioned the heart onto a white cardstock background and added pink stitching around the edge of the heart.
I positioned both of my photos in the center of the heart. These photos were taken at a cupcake ATM when I was visiting Los Angeles. Cupcakes from an ATM…talk about a fun memory!! I backed the photos with a layer of tissue paper and cut the Green Frame Sticker, from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection , in half. I positioned the title, Colorful Memories from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection, above the photos.
I added a couple Floral Cluster Stickers, from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection, on either side of the heart to add a little more embellishing to the layout. I wanted just a little more detail to those areas, so I used the new Forever in Love Stamp Set with black ink for a graphic touch. I also grabbed three hearts from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection for additional pops of color. I also added black splatters for a final touch!
