Black & White

Today’s sketch comes from CAS(E) this Sketch! and is linked to their blog for this week’s challenge!!

Here is my card:

Using a white cardstock base, the image on the card is cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge in Black Cardstock and a B&T Duo® from the For Always Paper Packet. I doubled layered the cardstock and patterned paper to add more dimension and effect to the card.

{The image actually cuts in an oval and I just trimmed it in half to create the shape I was looking for.}

I tied a bow using Black Hemp, and added the sentiment from the Love Doily Stamp Set in Black Exclusive Ink®. To give the card a finished look I added a flourish from the Small Sparkles Clear Flourishes collection.

I’m also using this card as my “Make It Black and White” card for the Card A Day Challenge, and it will be perfect for the wedding we are attending in October!!

Honesty is the Best Policy

So I’m not going to lie. I am WAY behind on this Card A Day Challenge!!! Today I’d actually have to make 5 cards to catch myself up, and well….let’s just be honest…that’s not gonna happen!!! BUT I am trying my very best, and I have completed three cards today.

 (Note to all readers: I will be posting multiple blog entries over the next few days to try to get myself caught up, so I apologize if your inbox is bombarded with my blog entry notifications!)

The most recent sketch is from Sketch Frenzy Friday and is posted to their blog for this week’s challenge!

Using B&T Duos from the Claire Paper Packet* and Slate Polka Dot Washi Tape I created the background of the card. Adding the banner cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut® Cartridge in Ruby Cardstock and stamped with a coordinating stamp set sentiment in Outdoor Denim Exclusive Ink®.  Along with a corrugated chipboard star* covered in white acrylic paint with a sprinkle of Prisma Glitter and a little extra added bling from the Sparkles Clear Assortment to make the card complete.
